Purpose
I value integrity.
Everyone deserves respect.
I want my work to impact the world positively; I will never write a story of hate or anything that will compromise me. I strive to help create a world where people feel closer, not farther apart. The ultimate message should celebrate a message of hope.
We all show up in different colors, sizes, genders, religions, nationalities, and ways of being. I feel compassionate towards the variety of human experiences and the stories of people regardless of how much money they have in their pockets.
I will never write a story that attempts to compromise my values. I select my clients with the world's good in mind and avoid projects that dehumanize others or hurt anything.
I communicate inclusively, truthfully, and clearly. I will not confuse you or hide information from you. I will help all audiences feel welcome.
I want to live by the truth.
We all have our worldviews. We have perceived biases, preferences, and experiences that shape our perceptions.
When someone willfully misrepresents a situation, the fallout can be devastating. I will do my part to stay honest and expect my clients to do the same. Truth and honesty are at the center of every contract or partnership. Manipulation and deception are unacceptable.
I put the person before the sale. I respect you and your privacy. I will help you make the best choice for your needs.
I take responsibility for my part in changing the marketplace. I recognize the need to break the cycle of consumerism. I will continuously review my sales and marketing to ensure they benefit the common good.
I count on you to hold me accountable. Please connect with me if you see me not honoring this pledge.
I strive always to be fair.
I have worked with many walks and varieties of life. I’ve learned this: we can all bring something to the table. We must seek mutually beneficial relationships at CopperTop.
I expect always to receive fair pay, and I pledge to charge what the project demands and nothing more. I will always receive guidance and training and strive for the freedom and flexibility to grow and explore.
I pledge to be objective and fair in my feedback and professional opinions. I know I’m not perfect; nobody is. But I will strive to be my best, and I hope you will too.
I value community.

Citizen of Iowa Tribe of KS & NE
My tribal citizenship with the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska has played an essential role in my work over the past 15 years. Being a native woman has privileged me to operate with and support Native communities across Indian Country through strategic planning, grant writing, and program development, helping to create meaningful change and sustainable programs for tribal nations.

Ethical Storytelling
I’ve made a pledge with Ethical Storytelling to always put people first, tell others’ stories the way they want their stories told, use autonomy, have permission, uphold dignity, and truthfully represent a story. I also pledge to abide by international law, hold a posture of humility and learning, and take ownership of our responsibility to uphold integrity. Sign the pledge at Ethical Storytelling.
